On February 17 and February 24, 2023, JPF Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine Members attended Coffee with the Executive Director, Zoom conversations with Rollie Wesen to review 2022 projects and discuss upcoming goals for 2023.
The JPF has granted over $1M to Community Kitchens nationwide, and provided $200,000 to over 20 organizations in 2022. We celebrated our return to in-person events at the 5th Anniversary Gala last April. Jacques visited two grantee training kitchens: NYC’s Hot Bread Kitchen in August 2022 and Boston’s Community Servings in December 2022, to provide hands-on instruction.
The JPF Membership continues to grow and we expanded “Cook with Jacques Pépin & Friends” Video Recipe Book with over 200 video recipes, switching the format to release one new video recipe per week for JPF Members. We ran a successful Membership Match Campaign in October 2022 with Daniel and Katherine Boulud, Ming and Polly Tsai, Susan and Glenn, Maria and Joe, and Bob and Jeanne participating as our matching members. We continued our partnerships with Rouxbe (online culinary school), OXO, Chef Works, and the Catalyst Kitchens Network.
Coffee with the Executive Director offered our team the opportunity to share more about what we do at the Foundation to advance Jacques’ love of culinary education as we all work to support the teaching of culinary skills through various channels to many different communities. It gave supporters the opportunity to ask questions, learn more about specific initiatives, and suggest additional ways we can work together to continue the important work of enriching lives and strengthening communities through the power of culinary education.
