The JPF collaboration with the RI Food Bank celebrating 20 years of their Community Kitchen Culinary Training Program was an enormous success. Held on Thursday June 7th at Newport Vineyards, Middleton, RI we grossed over $260,000 and netted over $195,000 in support of culinary and life skills training for disadvantaged adults.
The Gala featured some of the best local chefs including Champe Speidel, Derek Wagner, Matthew McCartney and the Pastry Faculty from Johnson & Wales, regional celebrities Ming Tsai, Jeremy Sewall and James Wayman, as well as Rick Moonen from Las Vegas, NV. The setting was divine with live music from the Pat McGee band, a caviar tasting by California Caviar and a raw bar from Island Creek Oysters, and delicious wines and spirits.
The evening inspired the generosity of the RI community to support the amazing and tireless efforts of the RI Food Bank and the Chef Instructor team led by Chef Heather Langlois to teach job ready skills to our neediest citizens.
We are so grateful to all the sponsors, donors and attendees for their generous support!
