Here is what a few of the program administrators had to say about receiving this support:
“It is truly inspiring to all of us at Community Kitchen Pittsburgh that someone of Jacques Pépin’s stature would be so dedicated to our communities, and the role that food plays in building community. Over the past decade, we have placed over 500 graduates into good food jobs throughout our city, and this funding will help us continue this important work into the next decade!”
– Jennifer Flanagan, Executive Director of Community Kitchen Pittsburgh
“FareStart is profoundly honored to be awarded a grant from the Jacques Pépin Foundation. Their generous support will enable us to provide life-changing culinary job training to students overcoming barriers to employment. Together, we will create new pathways for people to succeed while strengthening our communities.”
– Patrick D’Amelio, Chief Executive Officer of FareStart
The Partnership Circle Grant
Kitchen of Purpose (KOP) in Arlington, VA is the recipient of our Partnership Circle Grant Award! This $50,000 grant, dispersed over two consecutive years, will support the development of the KOP alumni network, support the small business incubator for food entrepreneurs in the program, and will help incorporate a community service element into the curriculum. The Partnership Circle Grant allows for a deeper level of support and collaboration between Kitchen of Purpose and the JPF.
“This is great news. We value the support of all our partners, but the partnership with JPF is particularly special, as it comes from the heart of the culinary world. On a personal note – “Happy Cooking” became the phrase in my home for decades as my mother and I watched (and prepared) every Jacques video available. This truly hits home.”
– Brian MacNair, CEO Kitchen of Purpose
We are thrilled and honored to be a part of Kitchen of Purpose’s growth over the next two years.
The Jacques Pépin Foundation is deeply grateful to our 2024 Grants Review Committee volunteers. The time they spent reading and providing feedback on the dozens of proposals we received this year helped us grant more funds than ever in 2024!
Congratulations to all the 2024 awardees!
