Jacques has been up to much more than just celebrating his birthday at our 90/90 events! Along with culinary luminaries Joan Nathan, Sean Sherman, Grace Young, and many more, Jacques celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Julia Child Foundation Award at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in Washington, DC on October 17. This year’s honoree, Alice Waters, received the award for her contributions ranging from her revolutionary restaurant Chez Panisse to the founding of the Edible Schoolyard Project. With moving speeches from José Andrés and Alice’s daughter, Fanny Singer, it was a truly inspirational look at where the food industry in America has come from and a hopeful vision of where it is going.
