Susan Rothman

Susan Rothman, a serial entrepreneur, spent most of her career in the diamond and jewelry industry. She co-founded the Hearts On Fire brand in 1996 and served as President from 1997-2003. As co-founder and C-Suite Exec, she helped to grow Hearts On Fire to a luxury global diamond brand and sold the company in 2014 to Hong Kong based Chow Tai Fook, the world’s largest publicly listed jewelry company.

During her career in the jewelry industry, Susan served on the board of Jewelers for Children, a non-profit organization supporting children around the world. She also served on the Women’s Jewelry Association Board.

Susan is well versed in community grantmaking as a founding member of The Lenny Zakim Fund (LZF) in Boston where she served on the board for 20 years until transitioning off in 2015. During that time, she was Board Chair for 9 years.
LZF, founded in 1995 supports “under the radar screen” small grass roots organizations. 30 years to date, the LZF has awarded over $30 million in grants to more than 1600 community-based organizations throughout Massachusetts dedicated to advancing social, racial, and economic justice, while providing financial assistance, essential resources, education and pro bono legal support to effect lasting change and building sustainability.

In her “next chapter” life in Park City, Susan serves on the board of Park City Community Foundation (PCCF). PCCF is the “umbrella” organization for the many non-profits in the community, fostering a robust, local nonprofit sector by supporting urgent community needs and issue-focused initiatives.

In her personal life, Susan is passionate about food, cooking, and entertaining. After retiring from an active international business career, she had the opportunity in 2016 to enroll in the Professional Culinary Arts Program at Boston University, inspired and founded by Jacques Pepin and Julia Child. The skills she learned and appreciation for the culinary arts, which goes far beyond cooking, opened her eyes to the impact and positive difference one could make in the nonprofit culinary world by supporting community-based organizations offering culinary training and life skills to those for whom opportunities are limited. Susan is honored to serve on the JPF board to further her interest and passion.
