Dr. Cheryl Irmiter

Dr. Cheryl Irmiter is a psychotherapist at Meridian Psychiatric Services in Chicago, Illinois. She has over 20 years of clinical experience and is dedicated to improving health and wellness from her various perspectives as a life and health underwriter, policy advocate, translational researcher, university adjunct professor, social worker, individual/group therapist and executive leader.

Dr. Irmiter is passionate about mental health advocacy and education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s and PhD in social work, and completed a post-doctorate fellowship at the University of Michigan in Medicine to advance translational research for integrated mental health and health care in public and private sectors. Professionally, she was an executive leader promoting education and competencies for health care professionals regarding healthy aging, wellness and chronic disease management at the American Medical Association and the Easter Seals -National Office. Just prior to returning as an individual therapist, she was an Executive Director for a not-for-profit at a local level in the Chicago area.

Personally, she serves on a national and local not-for-profit Boards and has enjoyed the art of cooking and worked within the food industry to support her primary professional aims. Her family and friends are spread throughout the food industry and share her love for cooking. It was her husband, Joseph Irmiter, who introduced her to Jacque’s cooking series on PBS in the early 1990s. Since, they have been inspired by the love Jacque shares for food, family and community.
